Vape firm RIOT Labs has launched a subscription scheme for their Connex device.
The scheme is intended to cut unnecessary waste, keep quit smoking aids accessible, and fit into the busy lives of customers, the firm said.
Connex is a device that’s a 50/50 split of rechargeable battery and a flavour capsule made of recycled plastic.
The Connex subscription service will allow customers to choose from three options of up to six packs of five capsules. Those who know what they like can set up subscriptions for their favourite flavour to be delivered month after month, while the more adventurous vapers can mix and match up to six flavours a month.
Before their first order, customers will receive a sample pack of five flavours so they can test them out. They’ll also receive a RIOT lanyard, their rechargeable battery and a USB-C charging cable.
RIOT is keeping delivery simple, with DPD delivering the monthly hauls within Great Britain and DHL delivering in Northern Ireland. All subscriptions require pre-payment and age verification to ensure that sales are compliant with age restrictions.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping things fresh and exciting, RIOT Connex subscribers can look forward to exclusive monthly merch drops included in select boxes,” Ben Johnson, RIOT founder and chief executive, said.
“Each month, subscribers will have the chance to receive a surprise item from our RIOT Connex collection—whether it’s a limited-edition tee, a bucket hat, or even a balaclava. Expect the unexpected.
“Upcoming merch drops will be announced via email, and all active subscribers will automatically be entered for a chance to receive these exclusive items in their monthly box.
“It’s just our way of showing appreciation and adding an extra spark to their Connex experience.”
The new subscription service comes at a time when lovers of disposable vapes face some challenges, with a disposables ban taking effect in June 2025. Facing a war on vapes, where cigarettes are forgotten as the number one killer, RIOT Labs said they are making it their mission to guide smokers and ex-smokers through the fire without lighting up.
“RIOT has always been driven by a mission to innovate and lead responsibly. The recent bans and regulation changes have spurred the creation of Connex and the subscription service. We’re fully behind reducing waste in the vaping industry, and are committed to giving vapers a more sustainable choice without making them fight for it,” Johnson said.
