Geekvape, a leading global vaping technology company, has released its first-ever Sustainability Report, outlining ambitious commitments to environmental responsibility, ethical governance, technological innovation, and social contribution.

The 2024 Sustainability Report signals the company’s intent to evolve from a commercial leader into a pioneer of sustainable development in the vaping industry.

“We aspire to progressively accomplish a comprehensive leap from being ‘commercial value creators’ to becoming ‘sustainable development leaders’, through tangible and robust actions” said Wayne Zhang, chairman, in the report.

Key highlights from the report:

  • Carbon Neutrality Goals: Geekvape has pledged to achieve carbon neutrality for its operations by 2035 and for its entire value chain by 2050. In 2024, the company joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and installed a 1,420 kW photovoltaic system at its Zhuhai Park, expected to generate 1,450 MWh of clean energy annually. It also received the industry’s first LEED Platinum certification.
  • Circular Economy and Eco-Design: The company’s GEEK BAR Sugar Cube and Minimore products, featuring modular designs and biodegradable materials, won the prestigious 2025 IF DESIGN AWARD. Geekvape also reduced material usage by 30 per cent through packaging optimisations and introduced digital product manuals to cut paper waste.
  • Innovation and Compliance: Geekvape secured 305 new patents in 2024, bringing its total to 1,109. The company’s products earned 6,405 global certifications, including compliance with child-resistant packaging standards (ISO 8317), reflecting its dedication to safety and regulatory adherence.
  • Social and Employee Initiatives: Geekvape prioritised diversity, with 16.7 per cent of its workforce comprising ethnic minorities in China. The company launched the “Project V” volunteer team, organising eco-friendly activities like mangrove planting and beach cleanups, and donated over RMB 3.4 million (£350,000) to disaster relief efforts in 2024.
  • Ethical Governance: All employees and suppliers at the transaction level signed the Integrity and Self-Discipline Agreement. The company also conducted 12 ethics training sessions for new hires and 77 sessions for suppliers.
  • Supply Chain Responsibility: 100 per cent of Geekvape’s qualified suppliers signed its Supply Chain Sustainability Code of Conduct, which prohibits child labour and emphasises ethical practices. The company also partnered with Sedex to enhance transparency in its supply chain.
  • Responsible Marketing & Youth Protection: Geekvape strengthened its policies to prevent underage usage, including child-resistant packaging, adult-only marketing channels, and updated guidelines in collaboration with the UK Vaping Industry Association.

“The sustainability journey requires long-term commitment. Only with technological innovation as the engine and responsibility as the foundation can we achieve a win-win result for the business, society, and the environment,” Allen Yang, chief executive, said.

“Geekvape will continue to follow suggestions with an open mind and fulfill its commitments with pragmatic actions. We will combine forces with global partners to build a healthy, green and sustainable future.”

Geekvape plans to deepen its sustainability efforts by expanding renewable energy use, advancing recyclable materials research, and strengthening stakeholder engagement.

The report complies with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 2021 Standards and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It covers operations of Geekvape and its subsidiaries, Guangdong QISITECH and Zhuhai QISITECH, from January to December 2024.
