Best-selling US Vape brand JUUL is making an encore in the UK market, taking a 6.1 percent share of the total vaping sector in multiple grocery only twelve weeks after launch.
Launched in the UK into the specialist vape sector in July 2018, JUUL appeared on Sainsbury’s shelves on the 4th November 2018.
Latest figures from IRI shows that JUUL had taken a 6.1 percent share of supermarket vape sales by the end of January.
“What is apparent is that when JUUL grows, the category grows. We have seen this in the US – where all of the category growth can be attributed to JUUL – and are now seeing it in the UK,” said John Patterson, Sales Director of JUUL Labs UK.
JUUL has recently gained extensive listings in Boots and Motor Fuel Group and is readying for a roll-out into the convenience channel.
“We have also invested significantly in recruiting a field team to work with retailers helping them to develop the vape category in the convenience sector and increase their share of the sector,” Patterson added.
JUUL’s core range in the UK consists of the JUUL Starter pack (JUUL device, USB charger and four flavoured pods, RRP £29,99) and five flavoured 4-pod refill packs (Golden Tobacco, Glacier Mint, Mango Nectar, Apple Orchard and Royal Creme, RRP £9.99).
